Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection. LPA met with designated facility Director, Cynthia Reimers. This facility also has a preschool license #198012250 which is located on the same premises.

All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. LPA observed 7 children with 2 staff within 2 classrooms. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 regulations. The Licensee is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times.

Children in care are signed in by parents outside of the main entrance. Once signed in, the children are brought to their classroom by the parent. The main entrance of the facility was observed to be locked. The Director stated that the door is always kept locked, but parents of enrolled children have the code to gain access to the facility. LPA Lee also observed a small sticker with the facility phone number by the door in case a visitor wants to contact the facility gain entry. LPA observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Napping equipment was observed in form of cribs. Children's linens for the infant program are provided by the facility. Each infant sleeps in a designated crib or mat with individual sheets provided by the facility. There is a washer and dryer at the facility, and staff members wash the sheets for each infant every Friday after nap time per Director. There are age appropriate toys and supplies for children in the classroom, in good repair. There is a changing table within arm's reach of a sink in the classroom. LPA observed it to be clean. The facility was observed to have diapers and wipes available in each classroom near the changing table. Drinking water is available in form of personal water bottles that are also taken outside when needed.

There is a separate ill isolation area and restroom located next to the Director's office and is near the entrance of the facility. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.

The children bring sacked lunches and a snack from home. The children have lunch and PM snack at the facility. All bottles/cups observed to be labeled as well. Needs and Service plans were reviewed and observed to be updated. No children needing IMS services at this time. IMS plan provided and on file. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children. Storage areas for poisons are locked. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. The licensee takes measures to keep the facility free of flies, other insects and rodents.

Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb a fall. LPA observed shade provided via canopies. Staff Records were reviewed to ensure that a health screening report is on file. Children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that Identification and Emergency form, a medical assessment, and Needs and Service Plan are on file. Criminal Records Clearance for adults and verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices documentation was reviewed.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. Per Director, No children are currently requiring IMS services. No deficiencies were cited during this inspection. The notice of site inspection must remain posted for a period of 30 days during hours of operation. Failure to maintain posting during business hours will result in a civil penalty of $100.00 dollars. Exit interview conducted with Director Cynthia Reimers. Appeal rights provided.
