25 | On 6/19/24, at 8:10AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Katrdzhyan conducted an Unannounced Required – 3 Year inspection to the above facility. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director / Jacqueline Batres and disclosed the purpose of the visit. Entrance Checklist – Child Care Centers was provided to the Director. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 88 children. Licensee will serve 76 Preschool Children and 12 Toddlers. This is a preschool program with Toddler option which consists of 6 classrooms. There are no toddlers attending the program at this time. The following staff/children were present during this inspection: Room 1: 1 Staff & 8 children, Room 2: 1 Staff & 2 Children, Room 3: 1 Staff & 7 Children, Room 4: 1 Staff & 9 Children, Room 5A: 1 Staff & 7 Children & Room 5B: 2 Staff & 16 Children. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There is private school on the premises which the Licensee has a private school affidavit issued by the Department of Education.
LPA was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors. The furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. LPA observed surface of classrooms to be safe and clean, and child size tables and chairs available for children well maintained. LPA observed learning stations for dramatic play, math, and science with toys well maintained free of loose and sharp parts and a library area available for quiet play. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Mats/cots were inspected. Per Director, Linens and blankets are provided by the parents and are taken home weekly for washing. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. LPA observed water jugs available for children in each classroom and children's personal water bottles. Facility uses a water filtration system for children in care, located inside the kitchen. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were stored inaccessible to children. |
