Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced complaint inspection to the above mentioned facility on 06/11/26 at 9:15 AM. LPA met with licensee, Amber Cook, who guided analyst on a tour of the home. LPA observed 1 additional adult and 2 children in care. The home was observed to be free of defects.

During the course of this investigation, LPA conducted interviews and made observations. The operation hours for the above mentioned facility are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Individuals interviewed state that licensee sometimes goes out for about two hours to either run errands or attend doctor appointments. Licensee confirmed that she also owns the Full Steam Ahead Child Care Center located on 12235 Centrelia St, Lakewood CA, 90715. Licensee states that a Director (Erica Triplett) runs the child care center and she only visits the center approximately once a month to pick up attendance sheet for resource and referral agencies. The licensee provides transportation for a child from the childcare center to her family child care home at the end of the day. LPA did not observe the licensee working at her child care

center during the course of the investigation. Licensee mentioned that for a temporary time, prior to mid March 2026, she would cover in the morning for approximately 1.5 hours (8:30 AM to 10:00 AM). As of mid March 2026, she no longer covers in the morning. LPA observed that Staff (S)1 has completed pediatric first aid and CPR, mandated reporter, and has immunization records on file. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
