25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility. At 10:35am, LPA met with Assistant Monica Manzanero. Per assistant, Licensee was at an appointment and would be arriving later. Licensee arrived at 11:10am. Licensee is primarily Spanish speaking. Assistant helped interpret. The licensee states that they currently have 6 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and current. Hours of operation are 7am-7pm Monday- Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use the living room, dining area, kitchen, one bathroom, and the backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, garage, and front yard. At this time, due to a dog staying in the home backyard, the licensee is having the children play in the front yard. Licensee states all staff are providing visual supervision at all times during outdoor play in front yard. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 4 adults and 2 minors currently live in the home. Persons living in the home are identified on a confidential document. Licensee states that they currently have two assistants. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 10:45am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, LPA reviewed the living room which is used as the primary child care area. 4 children were observed playing. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. Fireplaces and open face heaters are inaccessible to prevent access by children. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. There are first aid supplies available. LPA observed napping equipment in the form of cots. Equipment is stored in in the living room corner. There are also play yards available for infant age children. REPORT CONTINUES PAGE 1 of 3
