25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Franchesca White and Keneisha Dunlap arrived at the above facility for an unannounced Case Management - Legal/Non-Compliance inspection. LPA White announced the purpose of the visit and was granted entry into the facility by Licensee Johnnie Johnson. There are 26 children enrolled, and 8 children present at the time of inspection. There are three staff present and all have current criminal background clearance.
At 1:45 p.m., LPA Dunlap observed the outdoor play area to be in good repair with no sharp edges or hazards. Play area was clean and toys neatly placed in their designated areas.
LPA's arrived during nap time and observed the children on cots in Classroom #4 being supervised by Licensee Johnnie Johnson. Licensee states that one staff member is on a lunch break, and the other staff member is covering the infant class while the teacher is on lunch. Children are quiet.
At 1:58 p.m., LPA White observed the Classroom #4 eating area to be mopped with chairs neatly stacked on top of the tables. Floors are clean and free of slipping hazards. LPA White observed the restroom located inside of the classroom to be clean, and stocked with toilet paper, paper towels and hand washing soap for the children to use.
At 2:00 p.m., LPA Dunlap observed the kitchen serving area to be clean. Dishes and pots stored in the cabinets and floors free of slipping hazards LPA Dunlap observed the containers in the refrigerator to be properly labeled. All vegetables and fruits are fresh. All refrigerated perishable items were observed to be current. At 2:05 p.m., LPA Dunlap observed the pantry to have perishable foods with best by 4/24/24 dates on them. LPA White suggested as a best practice to treat items labeled "best by" a certain date like frozen leftovers that are labeled with preparation date. Items are to be used by a month from that date. Licensee agreed and will inform kitchen staff on the department suggestion.
