25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justin Dorsey conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA met with licensee Aurora Lopez who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon entry to the facility the LPA observed 0 children in care. Per Licensee 4 children are enrolled.
This is a one-story family home. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, 3 bedrooms and 1 restroom. Main care is provided in the family room, LPA Dorsey observed toys for the children. The children use the bathroom located in the homes hallway. The off-limits areas include the homes three-bedrooms, laundry room, and kitchen. LPA Dorsey observed the kitchen to have safety latches on all drawers and cabinets. LPA observed a safety gate to prevent children from going into the laundry room.
LPA Dorsey observed the outdoor play area for the children. The play area includes a concrete area for the children to play. LPA Dorsey observed all outdoor toys and equipment were in good repair. LPA Dorsey did not observe any hazardous items in the play area.
The day care home provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. According to the licensee she transports children from school. LPA observed that the Licensees auto insurance and drivers license to be current. The home is operating the child care Monday thru Saturday: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The knives are kept in the kitchen in a drawer maintained locked with a child safety latch. All cleaning chemicals are stored above the kitchen sink inaccessible to children. Medications/vitamins are stored on a top kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children.
