25 | 11/07/2024, at 8:45AM. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), T. Tran conducted an unannounced annual required visit at New River Preschool. Upon arrival, LPA met with teacher, Emily Gutierrez and teacher, Betty Gonzalez. LPA announced the purpose of today’s visit. About 9:00AM, we toured the facility inside and outside. LPA observed proper care and supervision. All center staff that were present during today’s inspection had fingerprint cleared and associated to the designated license number.
This is a Preschool located on the Elementary school premises. Facility is operating in room 22 serving double sessions. Hours of operation for AM session 8:00AM-11:30AM; PM session 12:00Pm-3:30PM; Monday - Friday. There is no extended care offered. LPA observed all posting requirements for operation on the posting board LIC 203A-License, LIC 610 A-Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148-Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394-Notification of parent’s rights poster, LIC 613A- Personal Rights, PUB 269- Child Car Seat Law, Menus, Activity Schedule, and completion testing and remediated lead exceedances.
About 9:40AM, children records were reviewed for completeness. Staff files located at the main office. LPA will arrange another visit for files review. LPA observed current CPR and First Aid Certification for all center staff.
LPA inspected the furniture in the classroom for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated. Children does not nap, due to half-day session. Storage for children's belongings, bathrooms facilities, and isolation areas were inspected in the staff's office. Children drinking water by the use of water fountain. First Aid supplies were inventoried. A review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records was made. Documentation of current Fire & Earthquake drill was observed.
Facility provided breakfast and lunch for AM session and lunch and snack for PM session. All food items are delivered from the Elementary cafeteria. Food and snack items are properly stored.
Outdoor area was inspected for safety, good repair and age appropriateness equipment. Required shade, drinking water and fencing met the regulation requirement. No bodies of water accessible to children on this premises. Facility is reminded that smoking is prohibited on the premises. |
