25 | On 11/08/24 at 8:45AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mary Silva conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Elizabeth Gaitan, Early Headstart Supervisor. LPA was led on a tour of the facility. This is an infant program with a toddler component which is licensed for 40 children; 25 infants and 15 toddlers. The facility operates in the campus of North Park High School,
Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Per Supervisor there are 27 children enrolled.
Licensing staff observed all required forms/publications to be posted by the front entrance. Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted one week in advance where it is visible by the child's authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available upon request. All areas were identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected.
PHYSICAL PLANT: At 9:00AM, LPA inspected Room 1, observed 7 infants with 3 staff members, Room 2, observed 4 infants with 2 staff, Room 3, observed 6 toddlers with 3 staff, and Room 4, observed 8 toddlers with 3 staff. All children were observed to be under visual supervision. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 regulations. The Licensee is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Toddler and infant rooms are physically located in separate areas both indoors and outdoors.
LPA observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment was inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All surfaces and materials accessible to children, including toys, are toxic free. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. At this time, the isolation area is located in the same area where the office is, labeled Isolation area. There is also a space in each room that can be used, if needed.
LPA observed age appropriate furniture and equipment, but not limited to cribs, cots, mats; changing tables, and feeding chairs. Page 1 of 4
