32 | Classroom floors were clean and free of hazards, and all materials and surfaces accessible to children were observed to be free of toxic hazards. Napping equipment, such as cots were observed to be clean, in good condition, and properly maintained. Per Director, the facility provides the children’s bedding and parents provide blankets. Director stated that all bedding is washed weekly. Teacher-to-child ratios were observed to be in compliance with Title 22 regulations, and staff names were recorded. The facility was operating within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license.
Sign-in and sign-out takes place in the main entrance area of the facility. The facility utilizes an electronic application, Smart Care, for parents/guardians to electronically sign children in and out. A QR code is available for parents/guardians to access the electronic sign-in and sign-out system. LPA reviewed the electronic sign-in and sign-out records to ensure that the individual signing the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of arrival and departure. LPA reminded the Director that parents/guardians are required to use their full legal signature when signing children in and out of care each day. The facility maintains hard copies of sign-in and sign-out sheets for use as needed. Per Director, emergency paper sign-in and sign-out sheets are also maintained and available for use in the case the electronic system is not functioning or parents/guardians experience difficulties accessing the electronic system.
Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide were not tested during this visit due to the detectors being wired to the emergency pull down fire alarm system. LPA observed a fully charged and serviced fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher was last serviced on 09/17/2025, and service tag was attached. Emergency disaster drill was last conducted on 08/31/2026. LPA observed that first aid kits were maintained in each classroom. Heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated and found to be adequate.
LPA toured the outdoor activity area. Playground equipment, including play structures, tricycles, and play toys, were observed to be in good condition and free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and observed to be free of hazards. Areas surrounding and beneath climbing structures, swings, slides, and other elevated play equipment were adequately cushioned with sand. Per Director, staff rake through the sand areas daily and inspect for animal feces and or any unsafe objects.
