LPA arrived at the facility at 8:15AM, identified self and met with Elana Kornfeld, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 125 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. This is a preschool program which consists of 5 classrooms. Facility operation hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Friday from 9:00AM to 2:30PM. The Licensee also has on premises a facility under the name of Burbank Jewish Infant Center (197493886) that provides care to infants.

All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected.
There were 28 children and 17 staff present when LPA arrived. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations.

At approximately 9AM, LPA observed a male individual who was not associated to the facility present while children were being dropped off for care at the facility. Male individual was identified as Carlos Yanez. During record review, LPA did not observe any information indicating that the Department was notified of the armed guard at the facility.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
