25 | On 08/15/2024 at 11:45 AM an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Katrina Chicote and Ashley Calderon. LPAs announced purpose of visit and initially met with Facility Representative, Yvonne Vasquez, Principal. Facility is located in Classroom 36 on Wisdom Elementary School Campus and currently licensed for a capacity of 24. Per FR, they currently have six children enrolled. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. LPAs singularly toured the facility of both indoors and outdoors. Required postings were discussed. Per File Review, facility has two waivers for use of shared Outdoor Play and Bathroom with elementary school campus, but did not observe waivers posted at time of inspection. LIC 125 was provided.
The facility is made up of one classroom. At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of five children and a total census of two staff (S1 and S2) present. Per FR, there is currently a long term substitute in place. Sign-in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed. LPAs observed all children signed in at time of inspection.
Beginning at 11:50 AM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. LPAs observed surface of classrooms to be safe and clean, and child size tables and chairs available for children with rounded edges and well maintained. LPAs observed learning stations for dramatic play, math, and science with a variety of age appropriate toys maintained free of loose and sharp parts and a library area available for quiet play. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Cots were inspected. Per Staff, linens are provided by the facility and washed by weekly laundry service. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. Per S2, children bring in personal water bottles and are refilled through drinking fountains. LPAs observed children's personal water bottles in their cubbies. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. LPAs observed bathroom available in classroom that had two toilets and two sinks, a third sink available outside of the bathroom. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were not stored inaccessible to children at time of inspection. LPAs observed these items stored on low counter by child's sink.
