According to staff interviewed, all staff confirmed that wellness checks are conducted, however, parents don’t always stay long enough to be informed that their child is not well enough to attend school. Rather, after a child’s initial drop off, parents will be contacted to return to pick up their child and be taken home. Staff also stated that when the child shows obvious signs of illness, the child is not accepted. If they notice signs of illness while the child is in care, they will notify office staff, the child is removed from the group, and they will contact the parent right away. Staff denied that children are allowed to attend day care while sick.
According to parents interviewed, they stated that when they drop off their child, the staff greets them and child, the staff conducts wellness checks like taking the child’s temperature and checks for obvious signs of illness prior to accepting the child. If the child develops signs of illness while in care, the school will call them to pick up the child right away. Parents also stated that they have never observed any sick child in care. They have no issues and are happy with the school. |
