25 | On October 17, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival LPA Ayala was greeted by licensee, Maribel Salazar who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Also present in the home was licensee's assistant Sergio Ureta who is fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. LPA observed 2 children in care, per licensee there are 14 children enrolled. LPA observed 8 birds that remain in their cages and 2 turtles that remain in their tanks. Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday, 6AM to 5AM.
This is a single-story house with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, laundry area with chemicals and cleaning compounds inaccessible to children in care, living room, dining room, kitchen, completely fenced rear yard and fenced in front yard. LPA observed face wall heater that has been made in accessible to children in care. The day care takes place in dining room, bedroom 1, bedroom 3 (where infants naps in playpen), hallway bathroom, and front yard. The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone. There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee has current First Aid and CPR, expires 03/16/2026.
