Day care takes place in dining room, bedroom 1 (used for indoor play), bedroom 3 (where infants nap in play yards), bathroom, and front yard.
The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated.
LPA observed a wall heater in living room that has a wood cover, making it inaccessible to children in care.
Licensee has 2 bird cages in the living room area, which are kept covered during day care hours. Licensee also has 2 turtle tanks in living room by the front door. The openings to the tanks have metal mesh covers, making the turtles inaccessible to children in care.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety and comfort of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home.
Bedroom 1 is used room is used as the main day care area in the morning. LPA observed age-appropriate toys such as blocks, books, art supplies, dramatic play materials, and sensory toys all free of loose and sharp parts. LPA observed 2 play yards for the infants in care.
Licensee states that when the infants are napping the older children are taken outside to play.
Licensee states that the older children do not nap. LPA observed mats for older children to be stored in the closet of bedroom 1. There are cubbies for children in care to store their belongings.
Licensee states that there are no poisons stored in the home. Licensee does understand that poison must be locked. The Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed depending on the children in care. Personal Rights of children were observed by LPA at time of inspection.
Licensee states that children play outside in the front yard daily. LPA Ruiz toured the front yard and observed a large wooden play structure, with a slide, and a dramatic play house, all in good condition, free of loose, sharp, or pointed parts.
