25 | An unannounced Annual Required Inspection was conducted on 09/17/2021 at 12:00 PM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 36. LPA Chicote conducted COVID-19 screening call prior to entering facility. Licensing staff met with Sylvia Aguilar, Director. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. LPA was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors.
At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of 18 children and a total census of five teachers present. The facility is made up of three classrooms, Preschool (Rm. 114), Older Toddler (Rm. 111), and Young Toddler (Rm. 108). Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. LPA observed Lakeshore wooden shelves filled with puzzles, blocks, science toys, soft dolls, wooden play kitchen, and other child appropriate toys in each classroom to be clean and free of hazards. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings in each classroom. Mats/cots were inspected, LPA observed mats/cots stored in facility's kitchen. Per Director, linens are provided by the facility and washed weekly or more often if needed. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. LPA observed water faucets in each classroom, per Director water faucets provide filtered water for drinking water in each classroom. Preschool (Rm. 114) has own bathroom and Older Toddler (Rm. 111) and Young Toddler (Rm. 108) share bathroom. LPA observed age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation.
A first aid kit is kept in cabinet of each classroom. Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are present in the facility. Fire extinguishers have been serviced, service tag was observed. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were stored inaccessible area to children.
