32 | LPA observed that there are baby gates separating areas used by children and off-limits areas.Per licensee, off limit areas are also locked during operating hours, LPAs observed doors to be locked.
All areas identified on the facility sketch as accessible to children were inspected to ensure that
they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety and comfort of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys such as blocks, books, trucks, dramatic play structures, free of loose and sharp parts. LPA did not observe any exposed electrical outlets. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible.
Licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The Licensee does understand that poison must be locked. The Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed depending on the children in care. Personal Rights of children were observed by LPA at time of inspection.
Per licensee, the children do not have access to backyard area right now, due to play area is being used for storage by building owner. LPA observed wood planks and construction materials to be stored in the children’s play are. Per Licensee, the outdoor play area is used for storage by owner when it rains and has not been in use for the past two weeks. LPA reminded licensee that 100% supervision is required at all times when children are playing outside and that all construction materials and items that could pose a danger to children must be removed from the play area before children are allowed to entry to play.
Per licensee, they provide food for children in care. Licensee works with Evergreen Inc. food program and provides breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.
Licensee states she uses physical distance to keep children who are sick away from the other children in care, until their parents can pick them up.
Licensee states there are no pets on the premise other than the turtle which is kept in a large tank in the dining area.
Licensee states there are no weapons or firearms in the home, and none were observed during this inspection. Licensee states there are no pools or bodies of water on the premises, and none were observed on this day.
