Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced case management licensee-initiated inspection. Licensing staff met with Director, Teresa Jung. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm. This facility also has an infant license #198018316 located on the same premises.

This is a preschool program that is currently licensed to operate from 5 classrooms (Preschool Classroom 1 through 5). Licensee is requesting to decrease their licensed capacity by removing preschool classroom 5 and converting it into an infant classroom. LPA was provided a tour of the facility’s existing licensed areas. During this inspection, LPA observed 8 preschoolers with two staff in preschool classroom 3. LPA observed 12 preschoolers with 3 staff in the outdoor preschool play area. The facility was observed to be operating within its licensed capacity. LPA observed the preschoolers to have access to 2 toilets and 2 sinks in the restroom located in the hallway.

Licensing staff was guided through the outdoor activity areas. The outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition and age appropriate. The outdoor activity space surface was observed to be maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards. There is adequate shade available outdoors via canopies. LPA observed cushioning material available around and/or under climbing equipment to absorb a fall. LPA did not observe any violations or hazards outdoors.

Indoor Activity Space:
Preschool classroom 1 measured for 173.82 sq. ft.
Preschool classroom 2 measured for 249.48 sq. ft.

Total Preschool Indoor Activity Space 921.35 sq. ft which calculated for a capacity of 26 children.

Outdoor Activity Space:
Preschool Outdoor Space measured for 1430.79 sq. ft. which calculated for a capacity of 19.

The licensee has an approved waiver on file for the preschool program to utilize their designated outdoor space on a staggered play schedule.

At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. The Department has received an approved Fire Clearance. The preschool capacity will be reduced to (25)preschoolers.

Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Teresa Jung.

A notice of site visit was given to facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
