25 | On 11/13/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Carolyn Tuba conducted an unannounced case management inspection for an existing swimming pool and spa for the above facility. LPA met with Licensee, Celina Heredia and observed 6 children in care. There were 2 additional adult assistants during the visit.
Licensee submitted photos of the swimming pool via email to Licensing Program Manager (LPM), Ana Chico earlier today. During this inspection LPA filled out “Bodies of Water Checklist”. According to the bodies of water Department regulations the family childcare swimming pool and spa at the home is appropriately fenced. According to Licensee the children will not have access to the pool during operating hours of Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The pool will be used for personal use and Licensee agrees that fencing will remain in place whenever licensed care is provided, and as long as the mesh fence makes the swimming pool inaccessible to children as determined by licensing staff. LPA took photos and observed the self-closing gate. LPA also suggested that gate be tested often to make sure it continues to work properly. The gate surrounds the swimming pool and spa, and the mesh fence is secure and in good condition and was installed November, 2023. LPA observed that the back door has a door alarm to alert Licensee and assistants should the door be opened and found to be operable during today's visit. Licensee will be updating outside facility sketch and will submit to the Department.
A notice of site visit was given to licensee and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Celina Heredia.
