25 | On 04/04/2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Staicy Perry conducted an unannounced required 3-year inspection to the above facility. A COVID risk assessment was conducted upon entry. LPA met with Licensee Maria Luquin, whom the reason for the visit was explained. Per Licensee, there are 12 children currently enrolled. There were 10 children, and 4 adults present upon arrival. The Licensee's assistant, Veronica Moreno, Licensee’s Daughter in law, Jessica Cafuentes and Licensee's son, Alvaro Luquin, were also present in the home. Facility capacity is in compliance for a Large Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee hours of operation are Monday-Friday 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
Family members residing in the home are 3 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 4 children.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, front/side yards and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom, living room, dining room and front and side yards for play. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms, kitchen and backyard. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist were observed to be posted on the wall next to the entrance. A current children’s roster was available for review. There is telephone via landline.
During this visit, all areas identified that are accessible for children to use were inspected for the safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Licensee guided LPA on the tour of the home. Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There are toys and other age appropriate material available for children. There is a wall ac. The children utilize the kitchen as a walkway to the side yard for play. The kitchen was observed go be clean, organized. Knifes were seen to be placed in a cabinet made inaccessible to the children. LPA observed all kitchen cabinets to have safety locks and cleaning products are stored which are made to be inaccessible to the children via safety locks.
