25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 06/26/26 at 9:22 a.m. At approx. 9:39 a.m., LPA met with licensee Jackie Tovar who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There was 01 child present in the home. According to licensee, 07 children are enrolled; however, they are school age and arrive at the facility at 7:10-7:45 am and 3:00 pm-6:00 pm.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, family room (day care room), garage, front and backyard (fenced). LPA observed a child proof gate at the bottom of the stairs which made the entire second floor inaccessible. Children have access to the family room, 1 bathroom, and backyard; however, children must walk through the living room and dining room to access those areas. Family members residing in the home are 3 adults and 0 minors. According to the licensee, there is 1 dog on the premises.
LPA toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Tour began in the living room where LPA observed furniture, a screened fireplace, hallway leading to the children’s bathroom, stairs leading to the second floor and garage (inaccessible). LPA toured the children’s bathroom and observed it safe and in sanitary conditions. LPA then continued the toured through the living room and dining room which lead to the kitchen and family room. According to the licensee, the kitchen is off-limits. LPA observed that the kitchen cabinets have child proof locks and knives are kept in a top cabinet. LPA then toured the family room which is the day care room and observed toys and materials for children. LPA also observed a TV, furniture, and a barricaded fireplace.
