25 | On 1/124 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alicia Mooberry conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection in Spanish, as requirement of the three (3) years probation beginning on 10/07/21. Upon arrival at 12:15pm LPA met with licensee Sandra Benitez. LPA inspected the home for safety, comfort, and cleanliness, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, firearms and other items which could pose a danger if readily available.
At 12:20pm LPA observed eleven (11) children in the outdoor play area supervised by 2 Staff. Per licensee and facility roster, there are 14 children currently enrolled in in the facility. LPA toured the facility including off limit areas. This is a 2 story home, the second level in inaccessible to the children in care, LPA observed a closed safety gate at the base of stair that lead to the 2nd floor. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri 6:00am-5:00pm.
Off limit areas including the upstairs level, kitchen and the backyard of home are made inaccessible by safety gates. LPA observed that the home is clean and orderly and did not observe and hazards.
LPA reviewed children and staff facility files. Licensee CPR/First Aid expires 08/2025. The required posting including the facility license and Parent's Rights poster were posted at entrance to home.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During the exit interview, the Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the Registered Sex Offender (RSO) search in Megan's Law website.
No deficiencies were cited during this inspection. Exit interview conducted with Licensee, Sandra Benitez.
