25 | An unannounced Required – 1 Year Inspection was conducted on 12/08/2022 at 11:35 AM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 225 but currently have 106 enrolled. Licensing staff met with Maria Harris and Sonia Gutierrez, Facility Administrators. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM. LPA was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors. Required postings were observed posted in school lobby and in each classroom.
Facility is composed of ten classrooms but facility is currently using nine classrooms at this time. LPA observed in RM 4110: 13 preschoolers with three staff(S) S1, S2, and S3, RM 4108: 11 preschoolers with two staff (S4 and S5), RM 4107: two preschoolers going down for nap with one staff (S6), RM 4104: seven napping preschoolers with two staff (S7 and S8), RM 3103: seven napping preschoolers with two staff (S9 and S10), RM 2110: five napping preschoolers with three staff (S11, S12, and S13), RM 2107: 16 napping preschoolers with three staff (S14, S15, and S16), RM 2106: 16 napping preschoolers with two staff (S17 and S18), RM 2104: nine napping preschoolers with two staff (S19 and S20). At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of 86 children and a total census of 20 teachers present.
Beginning at 11:45 AM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair in each classroom. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. LPA observed learning stations in each classroom with toys filled for dramatic play, manipulatives, art, and other age appropriate toys free of loose and sharp parts. LPA observed quiet play area available for children in each classroom with soft seating and books available. Floors and rugs in classrooms observed to be free of hazards and well maintained at time of inspection. Mats/cots were inspected. Per Administrators, linens are provided by the facility and washed weekly, parents provide additional blankets that are taken home weekly. LPA arrived during nap time and observed cots being used in each classroom at time of inspection with cots placed that does not block walkways or access to exits at time of inspection.
