25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Veronica Martinez Garza and Stephanie Li conducted an unannounced 1-year required inspection at the above facility on 10/05/23 at 08:40 a.m. A COVID risk assessment was conducted upon entry. LPAs met with Jessica Meneses, Licensee who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. There were 06 child present during this inspection. Per licensee, 08 children are enrolled. Present during the inspection was the Licensee’s assistant.
Operation hours are Monday – Friday 08:30 a.m. – 04:00 p.m.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, back deck, garage, front, side, and backyard (fenced). Children use the bathroom in the hallway leading to the back deck, living room, dining room, front and side yard for play. LPAs observed a barricaded fireplace in the living room. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 3 bedrooms, 1-bathroom, detached garage, and back yard. Per Licensee, family members residing in the home are 3 adults and 1 minor. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in a licensed home. Individuals living in the home are identified on the attached LIC811.
Per Licensee, there is one dog kept in the back yard off-limits area. LPAs observed a gate to make the backyard inaccessible to children.
LPAs toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPAs observed appropriate napping equipment (cots) kept in the dining room. LPAs observed that the cots do not hinder the entrance or exit to and from the space they are sleeping in. LPAs did not observe any hazardous materials throughout this inspection; exposed outlets were observed to have covers. LPAs observed toys and other age-appropriate materials available for children. There’s also a first aid kit readily available. LPAs observed several sunscreen bottles accessible to children. LPAs recommended Licensee to place all sunscreens in a top shelf to make it inaccessible to children. Licensee removed all sunscreens and made them inaccessible to children.
