25 | On June 7,2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Staicy Perry and Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced Case management deficiency inspection. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. LPAs were greeted at the gate by Ebony Reddick, identified as a Teacher, who informed us that she will get licensee Chiara for us. LPA asked Teacher Ebony to allow us in and she stated that she will grab licensee. About 1 minute later, licensee Chiara came out to greet us and open the door to allow us in. Licensee Chiara guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. LPAs observed 4 children in care with 3 staff presents supervising the children.
The purpose of the inspection was to issue a deficiency for the facilities website not having the facility's license number available for the public to review. Per Title 22 Regulations Section 102359(a), "Licensees shall reveal each facility license number in all advertisements...".
Per review of social media accounts (Instagram account @slccpreschool) no observations were made of licensee documenting facility number for the public to review which poses a potential risk to the health and safety of the children in care. LPA informed Licensee that any advertising for example flyers, social media, banners, or websites and so forth require the facility number of the Family Child Care. Additionally, website (SilverlakeCenterForCreativity.com) does not clarify that this is a family child care home where licensee resides at. Information on website does need to be clear to parents and visitors that this is a family childcare home and not a center.
Additionally, LPA observed the facility advertising for an expansion at 1140 Lemoyne street Los Angeles CA. LPA has not observed an application for a childcare facility at the mentioned expansion address. LPA . |
