25 | On February 17, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival LPA Ayala was greeted by licensee, Leydi Quinteros who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Also present in the home was licensee's assistant, Yaneth Melendez. Inspection was conducted in Spanish. LPA observed 1 dog in the off limit rear yard (gate blocking access), dog has required vaccinations. LPA observed 4 infants, 4 toddlers and 3 preschool age children in care. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This is a one story home which consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, detached garage, front yard (fenced) and backyard (fenced). Per licensee, the children use the living room, dining room, bathroom (hallway), front yard (fenced) and driveway that leads to the back yard (gate located at the entrance to the backyard). Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, ventilation and heating. There is a wall heater located in the hallway leading to the bathroom which is barricaded. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: two bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room, detached garage, and backyard (fenced). The licensee provides food for children in care.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee has current First Aid and CPR, expires 09/01/2024.
