25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lilli Babcock and Saul Valenzuela conducted an unannounced Case Management visit to follow-up on the Noncompliance Conference held on 5/2/24. A COVID risk assessment was conducted. LPAs met with Director, Maribeth Peralta, to whom the reason for the visit was explained. Director guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. Census was taken. There were 9 staff present caring for 33 children. The facility was observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations.
During the visit, LPAs observed signed LIC 9224’s for children in care, as required from the Noncompliance Conference. LPAs also observed the Ratio Log for 8/28/24 and observed it to be complete. LPAs toured all areas of the facility accessible to children and observed no hazards or unsafe areas of the playground. LPAs observed the facility and bathrooms to be clean, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. Napping equipment (cribs and cots) and bedding were inspected for good condition, appropriate storage, and cleanliness.
All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and LPAs inspected that any contaminated food is discarded immediately. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children.
