Upon arrival LPA met with Facility Representatives (FR): Jenny Acosta (Program Administrator), LaShell Diggs (Director), Maria Harris (Principal), and Sonia Gutierrez (Program Specialist) who guided the analyst on a tour of the facility both indoors and outdoors. The purpose of today's inspection was to measure three rooms the facility is using to add a Toddler Component (18-36 months) to the Infant license. The Director stated that no changes to the facility sketch has been made.

LPA Chicote measured the three rooms and outdoor play area to be used for the Toddler Component. Facility is requesting a capacity of 36 Toddlers (12 in each room) decreasing Infant Program capacity to 24, total capacity for program will remain at 60. Fire clearance is on file and has been approved for 60 children total.

LPA observed Room 4103, Room 3104, and Room 2111 that facility will be using for the Toddler Component. LPA observed cubbies for each child's belongings and age appropriate toys available for children in each classroom. LPA observed each classroom to have Bathrooms with two toilets and one sink available for children and two diaper changing tables meeting Title 22 Regulation requirements. LPA observed daily schedules and menus posted in each room at time of inspection. LPA observed drinking water fountains and water pitchers available for children. LPA observed medications stored in labeled storage compartment inaccessible to children and first aid kits in each classroom stored in teacher cabinet.

Facility has applied for an Outdoor Waiver to use outdoor space with the Infant Program to have staggered schedules to use outdoor play yard. LPA observed outdoor play schedules. LPA observed Outdoor Play space that will be used by the Toddlers to have a bicycle lane, turf grass, age appropriate play structure with cushioning material below to absorb fall, and musical instruments and ride along toys that are well maintained available for children in care.
