25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee Jolandra Navarre who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival, LPA observed the Licensee and cleared assistant providing care for five children (three preschool, one school age and one infant). Per Licensee there are 16 children enrolled attending at various times. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted.
At Approximately 9:50am LPA conducted an inspection of all areas of the facility sketch. This is a one story home which consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area, front yard, attic living space and small inaccessible patio. The applicant uses the living room, dining area, kitchen, two bedroom (activity rooms), bathroom and front yard for daycare.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has one small dog at this time. LPA advised Licensee to provide extra care and supervision if animals commingle with children as animals may be unpredictable. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. LPA reminded Licensee to provide 100% care and supervision for outdoor play. Licensee was also reminded to ensure that all medicines, chemicals, cleaners, paints, sharp objects, grills, propane, and similar hazardous items must be inaccessible at all times. Poisons must also be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per Licensee there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water and LPA did not observe any on the premises. The License, Parents Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness was posted. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and is due for service June 2023. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the family room were tested and are in operable condition. The children's roster |
