32 | Licensee uses her personal cell phone to stay in contact with parents via call or text. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, clean, free of loose and sharp parts. LPA observed electrical cover outlets all through the areas accessible to children. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible to children and per licensee are kept in a cabinet above the counter tops inaccessible to children in care.Per licensee, there are no weapons, poisons, or firearms in the home.
Per licensee, children do not bring food from home and licensee provides the children with breakfast, lunch, and snack. Per licensee, she is apart of a meal program through Options for Learning.
Napping equipment for children in care was observed, all three infants in care sleep in play pens free of loose objects. Upon entering the facility, LPA observed an infant in care wearing a sleep sack. LPA issued a technical violation and explained to the licensee that in order for the infant to use a sleep sack, licensee must request an exception from the department with parents requesting to use a sleep sack for the infants in care. Per licensee, children's parents provide sheets for the children in care and licensee sends them home every Friday for the parents to wash.
The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher was serviced on 09/26/2025 and is operable. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. Per Licensee first aid kit is readily available to children in care. Upon observation, first aid kit is fully equipped with required first aid supplies.
The Licensee has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Licensee’s file was complete with all required forms and documents. Upon children’s file review, all children’s files were reviewed and complete, The three infants in care did have a 15-minute sleep log on file, but per licensee and file review, a 15 minute sleep log had not been kept for all three infants in care since 10/23/2025. LPA explained to Licensee that the log must be kept every day the child is present and under their care as if it is not kept properly, a possible risk to the children's health and safety is imposed. As a result of the log not being completed on the above dates a type B citation will be issued. (See attached page 809D).
NO smoking, NO infant walkers, NO Johnny jumpers, NO saucer chairs, NO incline sleepers and any other item that falls into that category are permitted in the facility. Effective January 1, 2010, licensees of family childcare homes are required to ensure that at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is on site at all times when children are present.
