25 | On August 28, 2023, at 8:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted a case management- licensee initiated inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase. LPA arrived at the facility at 8:15am and met with Rhonesha Turner, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection, was Helen Lesa, Licensee’s Assistant. Per Licensee, operation hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday and closed Saturday and Sunday. There are 6 children that are currently enrolled. This is a one-story duplex which consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, front yard, and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom in the activity room/living room in the hallway. LPA observed that there is in activity room that is barricaded, and a file cabinet is in front of the fireplace. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms and one-bathroom, detached garage, the kitchen, dining room. Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Per Licensee, they currently have one assistant. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via cellphone and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating central Heat and air and fans. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and the receipt is dated 12/06/2022. The dual smoke and carbon detector was tested and are operable. Licensee states that she is currently caring for infants. Licensee states that infants sleep in the activity room where they are constantly supervised. Appropriate sleeping arrangements and cribs were observed.
