Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Director Esther Choe who provided a tour of the facility.

The infant program which consists of 1 classroom is located in the same building as the Preschool (#198018356) and School age program (#198019751). The facility is open Monday-Friday 8AM-6PM.

LPA Lee observed 3 infants being cared for by Staff#1 in the infant room. There is a changing table within arm's reach of a sink. There are age appropriate toys, equipment, and furniture. LPAs did not observe any hazards or violations in the classroom. LPA Lee observed that the napping area with cribs was separated from the classroom with a partition.

Snack and meal menu was observed near the entrance of the facility. This facility serves AM snack, Lunch, and PM snacks. Infants who are no fed with a bottle are served the meals from the menu per Director. The snacks and meals are prepared at the facility kitchen. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. The outdoor play area is separate from the preschool play yard. The Director stated that the infants were not using the outdoor play area this week due to the hot weather.

Staff and children records were reviewed during the inspection. LPA reviewed SIDs, Never Shake A Baby, and safe sleeping practices. Infants should sleep mouth up, on their backs, free of clutter surrounding their sleeping space.

LPA Lee advised the Director to refer to the California Department of Health's guidance on child care centers to obtain the most updated information regarding safe and sanitary practices.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226.The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm.
