32 | The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated. Licensee provides AM snack, lunch and dinner to children in care. Per licensee, she is a part of a food program through Options for Learning. LPA observed a functioning Smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide and working telephone. LPAs observed fire extinguisher to be fully charged and serviced.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensees First Aid and CPR expires on 03/2027.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible to children were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Home is well ventilated. Licensee provides lunch, dinner, and AM snack to children in care. Per licensee, they are a part of a food program through Options for Learning.
LPA observed all cleaning products to be kept in the bathroom on the top shelf of a storage space, inaccessible to children in care. Per licensee, there are no poisons in the home. LPA observed the knives kept in a high kitchen cabinet that is inaccessible to children in care.
LPA reviewed children’s files and files were found to be incomplete, LPA did not observe an LIC9227 to be in any infant files. LPA could not review Licensee or additional staff files as Licensee states no staff have a file. As a result, three type B citations were issued (See attached LIC809D) Children, Licensee, and Staff names were documented. LPA observed a current facility roster.
The licensee has completed the online mandated reporter training at www.mandatedreporterca.com, expires on 01/07/2028. All childcare employees must complete mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire and renew training every two years. Per Licensee, 2 staff do not have a Mandated Reporter Training Certification. As a result, 1 type B citation was issued. (See attached LIC809D).
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
