32 | The proposed toddler option classroom, Classroom 1, was observed to contain age-appropriate tables and chairs, toys, and activities. The outdoor play area was observed to be located at the rear of the building. The outdoor play area is currently designated for preschoolers use. LPA consulted with the director regarding creating separate outdoor area for toddler use only. LPA obtained measurements of the proposed designated toddler outdoor area. All outdoor equipment was observed to be in good condition. The outdoor activity space surface was observed to be maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards. There is adequate shade available outdoors via canopies. LPA observed cushioning material available around and/or under climbing equipment to absorb a fall.
During this inspection, LPA obtained indoor measurements of classroom 1 and the proposed designated outdoor space for toddlers. The total Toddler indoor activity space equals 461.15 sq. ft. which can accommodate the licensee requested capacity. The total proposed outdoor space to be designated for the toddlers measured to 952 sq. ft. which can accommodate for toddler requested capacity.
The licensee must submit proof of correction for the following item before receiving final approval. Correction will be due by 12/01/2023. Once proof of correction is received, the facility license will be updated to reflect serving 12 toddlers and 12 preschool children with the overall capacity remaining at 24 children.
• The licensee will submit proof of the designated outdoor activity space separation for the toddler program.
Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Dvonye Korf.
A notice of site visit was given to facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. |
