32 | As a result one Type B citation was issued. Per licensee they provide meals to children in care and they are apart of a meal program through KidCare. Licensee provides Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and AM/PM snacks to children in care. LPA observed a functioning Smoke detector and functioning Carbon Monoxide detector, as well as a working telephone. LPA observed a fire extinguisher last serviced June 2026.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensees First Aid and CPR expires on 02/22/2027. LPA observed all cleaning products to be kept in the kitchen cabinet located under the sink, kept locked by a child safety lock, inaccessible to children in care. Per licensee, there are no poisons or firearms in the home.
LPA reviewed children’s files and files were found to be complete. LPA reviewed Licensee and Licensee’s assistant’s file, both were found to be complete. and Licensee and staff files were found to be complete. Licensee’s Children and Licensee’s names were documented on an LIC811. LPA observed a current facility roster at the time of inspection, and all required postings were observed on the licensee’s parent board.
The licensee has completed the online mandated reporter training at www.mandatedreporterca.com, Mandated Reporter expires on 06/03/2027. All childcare employees must complete mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire and renew training every two years.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was advised of the requirement to report unusual incidents and/or injuries to the parent/guardian and Licensing within the time frame specified by the regulation and on the form LIC624B.
The licensee was informed of the responsibility to report suspected Child Abuse by calling the Child Abuse Hot-line at 1-800-540-4000. Also call the CCLD office and follow up with a written Unusual Incident/Injury Report (LIC 624B).
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
