25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Li conducted a Case Management - Licensee Initiated visit for the purpose of evaluating a request for a capacity increase from 8 to 14. LPA met with Licensee Aura Hurtado who guided LPA on a tour. There are 2 adults and 2 minor children living in the home. There were 5 children present during this visit. 4 enrolled children and licensee’s 7 yr old son. Per Licensee, there are 6 children currently enrolled. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00am-6:00pm. Fire clearance for a capacity of 14 was granted on 08/09/2024.
Per licensee, she is in the process of obtaining her foster license and estimating to finalize it within 2 months. She will be getting 1 foster child. Licensee will notify LPA when her foster license is finalized.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The facility is a one story home that consist of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room (daycare area), front yard, backyard, and garage. The areas accessible to children are dining area, living room (daycare room), one bathroom located first door on the right of hallway. The areas inaccessible to children are 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, front yard and garage. LPA observed the a baby gate in the hallway after the children’s restroom, blocking access to the bedrooms and off limit bathrooms making it inaccessible to children in care. Additional baby gates are also blocking access to kitchen.
The Licensee uses the back yard for outdoor play. The outdoor play areas were observed to be fenced. Licensing staff observed that the outdoor yards have toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA observed a storage bin with cobwebs and advised Licensee to be aware of spiders and webs and the clear webs during spider seasons.
