32 | Per Director, bedding is changed daily and as needed. Sufficient individual storage space for children was observed and each child has a cubby. First Aid supplies are available and complete. Drinking water was readily available indoors from a filter system. LPAs observed sippy cup with children’s names.
LPAs observed the diaper changing table to be at least one inch thick, with raised sides of at least 3-inches, and within arm’s reach of the sink. LPAs observed a kitchenette area shared between infant program and HeadStart program. The kitchenette area is in between the two classes. Licensing staff observed a refrigerator in the kitchen area that had individually stored milk for the children in care as well as labeled snacks that are stored in a pantry. LPAs also observed a water dispenser that is used to refill children’s water bottles when needed. This facility offers Breakfast, lunch and PM snack which is provided on site from the kitchen in Vineland Elementary School.
Licensing staff observed disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, that were stored on a top cabinet and were inaccessible to children. Classroom furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All floors are clean and safe. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. LPAs observed all trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
Licensing staff observed the valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 07/01/2024, as indicated on service tag. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide and smoke detector that meets statutory requirements. Director states there are no weapons, firearms, or bodies of water on the premises. LPAs did not observe any weapons, firearms, or bodies of water on the premises.
At this time, the teacher’s office is used as an isolation area, there will be a cot/crib available for an ill child to rest, the changing table will be used if needed.
LPAs were taken on a tour of the infant outdoor play area. LPAs observed infant playground equipment such as push toys, infant climbing structure, mats. Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. LPA observed a locked shed where toys and playing materials are stored.
