25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Cynthia Reyes conducted an unannounced increase in capacity inspection as licensee is requesting to increase to a large (14 Capacity) license. This inspection is also for the purpose of inspecting the facility to ensure the health and safety standards as required by the regulations governing childcare homes are met. LPA met with licensee Rosi Cardenas who confirmed the family members residing in the home, are 2 adults and 0 children. Present during this inspection was licensee and her assistant daughter. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30AM to 6:30PM.
Licensee Rosi Cardenas guided the LPA on a tour of the facility, indoors and out. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children.
Licensee has the License, Parent’s Rights poster and other required forms posted in the entrance of the front door, where parents pick up/drop off the children and documents are visible for all to see. LPA reviewed facility records for LIC 9040- Facility Roster and LIC 610- Facility Disaster Plan.
Areas used by children were inspected as follows: Front yard, family room W/Covered fire place, Kitchen W/Small dinning area, day care room, bathroom and back yard.
Areas off limits include Garage, Bedroom,Bathroom,daughter bedroom, office, laundry room, shed in back yard, living room, and big dinning area **Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours** The Licensee does understand that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
