25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fabiola Vasquez contacted an announced required 1-year inspection, LPA conducted the screening procedures for precautionary measures and received the clearance to go into facility at 09:00. They have applied for an increase in capacity for a large Family Child Care. A fire clearance was granted and received on 8/17/21. LPA met with licensee, Johana Flores.
Who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Present were Licensee and C6. Licensee states that there are currently 6 children enrolled. Days and hours of operation are: Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The Licensee is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. The children's roster was reviewed and is current. Family members residing in the home are 1 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 3 children. Licensee has a pet dog.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, Porch, detached garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). LPA did not observe a fireplace.
Areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: Living room, dining room, porch that has been converted into a play area, bathroom, and back yard. The children use the bathroom in the hallway.
Areas off limits include: Three bedrooms, bathroom in the master bedroom, front yard, kitchen, and detached garage.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. LPA did not observe stairs. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible.
Poisons are locked, as required. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
