At this time, the office is used as an isolation area. There are chairs and cots available for a sick children to rest on, and an available restroom. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill, and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
This facility provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Food is prepared off-site and delivered every morning. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and LPA inspected that any contaminated food is discarded immediately.
There is drinking water available in the classrooms and drinking containers/jugs are taken outdoors. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children. FR states there are no poisons stored at the facility at his time, and none were observed on this day.
At 9:40 am LPA observed that there are operable smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the facility on this day.
At 10:15AM, outdoor playground equipment was inspected and found to be in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the play yard. There are washable, age appropriate play structures and toys available for children to use.
Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. Staff Records were reviewed and observed to be complete. All staff have current Mandated Reporter Training Certificates on file. Children’s Records were reviewed and were observed to be complete. Sleep logs, LIC 9227, and Needs and Services and Feeding Plans were observed for each infant. Criminal Records Clearance for adults and verification of CPR/First Aid documentation was reviewed.
