25 | On June 18, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Monique Ayala and Priscilla Ochoa conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival LPA Ayala was greeted by licensee, Judith Shaesteh. LPA observed zero children in care as licensee stated she was not operating today. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
This is a single-story duplex house with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathroom, living room, kitchen with chemicals and cleaning compounds inaccessible to children in care, completely fenced rear yard and front yard and garage.
The day care takes place in bedroom #1 and #2, living room, hallway bathroom, and rear yard. The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated. LPAs observed a connecting door in the hallway that leads to the property next-door (627 N. Alta Vista). Based on LPAs observation and applicant disclosure the door was observed to be inaccessible via bolt.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, and working telephone. Licensee mentioned she did not have possession of a fire extinguisher, as she took it to go get serviced last week.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee and assistants do not have a current first aid and cpr course.
