25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced 3-Year inspection to the above facility. At 9am, LPA met with Assistant Katia Virabian. Assistant states that licensee just went out to the store. Also present during this inspection is additional Assistant Lyudmila Karamyan. Licensee soon arrived at 9:20am. Licensee states they were at the store. The licensee states that they currently has 12 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8am-8pm, Monday to Friday.
The house is located on the same property as facility #198021379. This facility is located in the back of the property with a separate address as #198021379. Families ring doorbell on the driveway gate and the provider comes out to receive child to walk to the facility. This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, front yard and back walkway (fenced). The children use all bedrooms, bathroom in bedroom 1, kitchen (walkthrough), living room, and front yard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: bathroom in nap bedroom. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 1 adult and 0 minors currently live in the home. Licensee states that they currently have three assistants. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 9:20am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted outside front door. Upon entry into the home, the living room was reviewed. There are age appropriate toys and equipment present for children in care. There were 9 children observed eating breakfast. Tour continued through the kitchen. LPA observed sharp knives to be kept in a high cabinet out of reach. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children by safety latch on the cabinet under the sink.
