32 | Upon entering the home, the living room is reviewed. There are various age appropriate equipment and toys for children in care. The tour continued into the kitchen, which is accessible to children in care. Sharp knives were observed to be high and out of reach. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. There are first aid supplies available.
At 9:15am, a fire extinguisher was observed. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 08/18/2025, as indicated on service tag. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually.
The first bedroom was reviewed which had a ball pit and small equipment for children to play in. THe restroom children use is accessible in this bedroom. The tour continued down the hallway past the licensee's bedroom. Per licensee, licensee's bedroom will be used as an area for an ill child until an authorized representative comes to pick up child. The bedroom at the very end of the hall is now being used as the nap room for the children in care. LPA observed napping equipment in the form of small beds. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
At 9:30am, LPAs observed the "front: yard area. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. At this time, children are using the "front" yard for outdoor play time. There is grass areas with small play structure and play houses. There are also a train and carousel ride available for children to use with adult operation. Plan of Use and manufacturer packets were provided. The licensee is observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations.
The licensee and other personnel have completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The licensee's Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on 09/2026. Licensee has completed mandated reporter training that expires on 06/04/2026. The licensee does have proof of immunization against influenza, tuberculosis, pertussis, and measles. Children’s records were reviewed, including but not limited to, a copy of the emergency information card that contains all the information specified by regulation. During review, LPA observed that 1 of 11 children files did not have a completed LIC627 Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment form. LPA explained the importance of having this form completed prior to the child starting at the facility.
