25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Anomeh Eivazian and Stephanie Li conducted an unannounced required- 1 year inspection on 10/04/23 at 8:45 AM. LPAs met with Zarui Yerkanyan, Director. LPAs provided Zarui Yerkanyan, director with a copy of the Entrance Checklist for Child Care Centers form (LIC 125). Director guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. A COVID 19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. The preschool program operates Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Parents enter the facility through the main entrance door by ringing a door bell. The preschool program consists of three classrooms, classroom 1 (Butterfly, 4-5 years old), classroom 2 (Penguins, 3-4 years old), classroom 3 (Bunnies, 2-3 years old), and Library area.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection; Classroom 1 (Butterfly, 4-5 years old): 10 children were playing outside with 2 staff , classroom 2 (Penguins, 3-4 years old): 17 children were playing outside with 2 staff , and classroom 3 (Bunnies, 2-3 years old): 11 preschoolers playing outside with 2 staff. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times. The following was observed during the tour of the facility:
PHYSICAL PLANT
LPAs observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Per director, cleaning crew clean the facility once a week during weekend, and staff clean the facility weekdays. Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic-free. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings in each classroom. Parents take Linens home each week on Friday or as needed and return it on Monday. Napping equipment (cots) were observed to be stored in each classroom. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. One bathroom is located between classroom 2 and 3 which has 4 toilets and 2 sinks, and one bathroom is located in classroom 1 which consists of two toilets and two sinks.
