25 | On Monday October 27, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joanne Solorio-Campos conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection to follow up with an incident that was reported to the department. LPA met with Yeny Martinez, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Census was taken.
On October 9, 2025 it was self-reported that a child disclosed to her mother, after pick-up, that the assistant at the above facility had hit her hand.
During the inspection, Licensee stated she did not observe the alleged incident, nor did she hear the child cry or express that her hand hurt or that anyone had hurt her. Licensee stated that if such event had occurred, she would have been aware and addressed it immediately. Licensee stated that the assistant and children were playing with drums and using their hands to beat the drums. The Licensee was present during this activity. The child is currently still attending the facility and Licensee stated that her assistant has since left the facility.
During the inspection today, LPA conducted an interview with the assistant present on the date of the incident in question. Assistant states that she was playing with drums with the child and does not recall a time when she could have accidentally hit her. Assistant states that she has taken the mandated reporter training and knows and understands what that means. Assistant states she could never have done that and does not understand at what time of day the alleged incident could have occurred, as when the child got picked up, she helped her put on her shoes, they said goodbye and the child appeared to be very happy.
Per interview with child's mother, child could not specify who had hit her, which hand was involved, or when the incident occurred. Mother stated she did not question the child further, as she did not want to frighten her. Mother decided to stop bring the child to the facility for a few days, but has occasionally brought her back since learning the licensee has installed cameras to increase vigilance.
