25 | On October 11, 2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Monique Ayala and Kruz Long conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival LPA Ayala was greeted by licensee, Eva Alvarez who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. Also present in the home was licensee assistant. LPAs observed 5 children. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 6PM.
This is a two-story house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom, laundry area with chemicals and cleaning compounds inaccessible to children in care, living room, living room (upstairs), kitchen, completely fenced rear yard.
The day care takes place in living room, bathroom located near the living room, bedroom #1 is used for infant napping, bedroom #2 is used for the art room and rear yard. The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated. Licensee was reminded that although bedroom #1's door is transparent, the door must remain open at all times to ensure the children/infants are being supervised.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee has current First Aid and CPR, expires 07/13/2024.
LPA reviewed children files; files were found to be complete. LPA reviewed staff files; files were found to be complete. Children and staff names were documented on LIC811 (confidential page).
