1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Crystal Green and Elka Chavez conducted an unannounced case management licensee- initiated inspection to inspect facility for capacity increase determination. Licensing staff met with Sukhjit Athwal, Licensee. The preschool operating hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. This facility is located on the premises of a 2-story business complex on the lower level. The facility is currently licensed to serve a total of 30 children, which are 15 preschoolers and 15 toddlers. The existing licensed areas are for 2 classrooms. The preschool room located in the rear and toddler room located in the front. There were no children present during this inspection. Licensee has requested to increase the overall capacity by adding an additional toddler and preschool classroom to the existing license. This facility has added a toddler classroom located near the front of the building and a preschool classroom located at the rear. This facility has an approved waiver on file allowing the preschoolers to cross through the designated toddler classroom during pick up and drop off. Licensing staff inspected the toddler classroom and observed a changing table located within the classroom. The preschool classroom was observed to have 2 toilets and 2 sinks located within the classroom area. The facility has an existing waiver approval allowing the toddler to share usage of the designated preschool restroom. All toilets and sinks were observed to be in operational condition. Both classrooms contained age-appropriate furniture.

Individual storage space was available for each child located inside the classroom. Toys were observed to be clean and safe. There is a refrigerator located within the preschool classroom. There will be drinking water accessible to the children in care via filtered water jug dispenser and the children will have their personal water bottles. The ill/isolation area is located in the back of the preschool classroom where the staff rest room is located and will be used by the ill child. The ill/isolation area has a cot for a child to rest if needed.

Licensing staff inspected the outdoor play area and equipment which was observed to be age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface was observed to be maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the outdoor play area. There is an approved waiver on file allowing both programs to share usage of the outdoor space using a staggered play schedule.

Measurements were obtained during this inspection:
New Toddler classroom measured for 478.17 sq. ft. divide by 35 sq. ft. which calculates for 14 children.
New Preschool classroom measured for 462.15 sq. ft. divide by 35 sq. ft. which calculates for 13 children.

New Total Indoor capacity will be 2,024.44 sq. ft. divide by 35 sq. ft which calculates for 58 children.

Total Toilets and sinks available to the children will be 3 toilets and 3 sinks which calculates for 45 children. Licensee has an approved waiver regarding the toilet usage.

Total Outdoor capacity will remain 2,534.26 sq. ft. divide by 75 sq. ft. which calculated for 33 children.

The department has received an approved Fire Clearance from Los Angeles City Fire Department. This facility can accommodate the licensee capacity increase request. This facility will be licensed for a total of 4 classrooms which will be the Toddler RM 1, Toddler RM 2, Preschool RM 1, and Preschool RM 2. The new operating capacity will be for a total of 48 children (24 preschoolers and 24 toddlers).

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Sukhjit Athwal. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
