32 | LPA observed high chairs and feeding chairs available in each classroom. There are trash cans with tight fitting lids available in the classrooms. There are smoke detector and fire extinguisher located in the classrooms. LPA observed both Infant and Toddler classrooms to have a changing table within arm’s reach of a sink. Per Director, parents will provide the diaper and the facility will provide the wipes.
The designated isolation area will be the Directors office located next to the infant classroom. There will be a cot available for ill children. Parents will be called immediately if a child become sick. Ill children will use the staff restroom. Licensing staff was guided through the proposed outdoor activity. The outdoor activity area was observed physically separated via a fence. There is age appropriate play equipment in the playground. Drinking water will be available to children via a water pitcher and disposable cups. There is shade provided via canopy.
No transportation is being conducted by the facility.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. |
