This inspection was conducted in Spanish

An announced Pre-Licensing Follow-up Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza on 02/16/23 at 01:02PM. Arisk assessment was conducted upon entry and appropriate PPE was used. LPA met with applicant Sandra Thamas who guided LPA on a tour of the home. The purpose of today's visit is to inspect and evaluate facility for initial licensure, and to inspect the corrections needed from the pre-licensing visit conducted on 02/10/23. Applicant is applying for a Small Family Child Care Home.

During this inspection the following was observed:

1. Applicant will remove Aloe Vera plant from the front yard- LPA observed applicant removed Aloe Vera plant and placed it in an off-limits area.

2. Applicant will not use the playroom (converted garage) as the main day care area and will remove most toys and equipment from the playroom to the family room- LPA observed applicant removed most of the playroom equipment and placed it in the family room and dining room.

3. Applicant will remove or fix lamps with lose screws on top of cement beams located in the back yard- LPA observed applicant fixed all the lamps that had lose screws.

Applicant understands that the playroom (converted garage) is only to be used for additional play space and should not be used for napping or eating. Applicant understands that the day care must take place in the home and not in the playroom (converted garage). Should there be a change or garage be permitted, applicant understands that she must notify the department within 24 hours.

Applicant is seeking to provide care for 8 children from 03 months to school age. Based upon today’s inspection, there are no corrections pending at this time. The Family Child Care Home appears to meet Title 22 regulations. The application will be submitted for final review to the Department. Once licensed, the applicant is required to adhere to the terms and limitations stated on the license.
