25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anomeh Eivazian conducted an unannounced case- management inspection on 11/08/23 at 9:20 AM due to licensee request to relocate infant program outdoor activity space. LPA met with Lauren Friedman, director who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Infant Center operates from Monday through Friday from 7:30AM – 6:00PM. Parents enter the facility through the facility side gate by entering a code and there is a security guard present by the entrance gate for additional safety. During this inspection there were 15 infants present with 5 staff.
This facility is located on the premises of Westside Jewish Community Center. Also operating on this premises is a licensed preschool with toddler option program (191800750). LPA observed the preschool program to be physically separate both indoors and outdoors from the infant program.
LPA Eivazian inspected and measured new infant program outdoor activity area for capacity determination. Infant outdoor space is located in the corner of entrance patio (gated). There is a door in infant classroom which leads to the entrance patio, and from infant classroom door to infant outdoor activity space is 20 feet. Per director, infants will be escorted from their classroom by walking through the patio to the outdoor activity space. Per director, entrance patio is gated and being used by facility only.
LPA inspected the outdoor activity space. There is adequate shade available outdoor via canopies. All areas around play equipment and slides are cushioned with material to absorb a fall. There is a changing table with cushioning within arm’s length from a portable sink. There is an emergency exit door located on the infant outdoor playarea which leads to school side walkway. LPA observed an operable door alarm on the emergency exit door.
There is a swimming pool located on the premises, which is inaccessible and off-limit to the children. Swimming pool has it is own entrance and exit. Per director, there is no entrance to the pool area from facility side and LPA did not observe any.
