LPA observed the preschool to have emergency/first aid kits located throughout the facility. There are also smoke detectors and fire extinguishers located throughout the facility. The director office will be used as the designated ill isolation room. Ill children will utilize the staff restroom.
This facility was observed to have one outdoor play space. Per facility representative, the outdoor space will be designated for preschoolers, however they will request a waiver to allow the toddler to share the preschool play yard on a staggered play schedule. LPA observed the playground to have a paved bike path and play climbing structure. The playground area was observed to have adequate shading provided via canopies. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, and slides were observed to have cushion material to absorb a fall. The children will have water accessible outdoors via water pitcher and their personal sippy cup.
This facility will provide breakfast, lunch and snacks via foo program called Chefables. LPA observed the facility to have a kitchen prep area that will be inaccessible to the children in care. Although the facility will have a kitchen prep area, Food brought into the facility will already be prepared. No transportation will be provided by the facility.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
